Badge of quality

SEQOHS accreditation is a badge of quality and SEQOHS accredited services have demonstrated they have met the required standards.  SEQOHS accreditation provides independent and impartial recognition that the service provider has objectively demonstrated their competence.

Following the initial award of accreditation, accredited services are required to demonstrate they have maintained the standards at their service on an annual basis by completing an annual renewal assessment.

Recognition by the Care Quality Commission

The Care Quality Commission’s (CQC) chief inspector of hospitals has acknowledged that accreditation has a key part to play in hospital inspections, recognising the value of such schemes as information sources. Additionally, the Any Qualified Provider (AQP) and Best Practice Tariff programmes recognise the accreditation schemes run by the Faculty of Occupational Medicine as the standard of quality for commissioning of services. SEQOHS is working towards such recognition and once received, will mean that accredited services undergo a light-touch inspection when inspected by the CQC.
